San Carlos Elms Activities in the Lounge

We were busy yesterday! We had Social Tea, Wii Bowling and the slot machine all going on at the same time, it was great!!!

Estelle was not happy when this happen, but she had a great sense of humor when it happened.

Salute to All Volunteers

Thank you to all our volunteers at San Carlos Elms. You Brighten up each residents day when you spend one on one time with them and for that we appreciate you! 

 Jessica and Breanna have been volunteering at The Elms Memory Program for the past two years. Every Friday they come and spend time singing, and playing games with the residents.

Addy and Kacie spend their time making sure the residents are smiling and exercising.

Talks on Literature at The Elms

Today Darwin came to discuss "Mark Twain Comes to California"

In this discussion they learned how Twain's early life, before and during his years in the San Francisco area, influenced his writing for the rest of his life.

Happy 90th Birthday Elly

 

Elly had a wonderful time celebrating her 90th birthday with her new friends at The Elms. Her daughter Ilona was able to attend today, but yesterday was the big family celebration. Let me tell you Elly's family know's how to party!!!

 Elly wanted to celebrate her birthday with her table mates.

Ellly's birthday was well attended and we were lucky to have Madeline play the piano for us today.

 Elly make a wish....for many more to come.

San Carlos Elms Attends Volunteer Expo at The Adult Community Center

San Carlos Adult Community Center did a great job this past Saturday during their Volunteer Expo. San Carlos Elms had a lot of wonderful people inquire about volunteering in both our assisted living and our memory care, which we LOVED to hear.

The Expo was well attended by people of all ages.

Kathleen and Lesley did their best at fielding all the questions regarding what volunteers would do with our residents. We had people asking if they could play piano, read, play cello, teach computers, and call bingo. It was a great afternoon. Thank you to all potential volunteers that visited our table on Saturday. We look forward to have you play in our community!

Bunco Time at San Carlos Elms

We have started playing Bunco once a month, but with this much enthusiasm and exercise moving from table to table I think you might see it on the calendar more often. We had a blast cheering each other on and switching partners.

San Carlos Elms Residents Enjoying new Lounge

The Resident Lounge is a great place to get a cup of coffee, a snack, read the paper or a magazine, but we always have time for games in our Lounge area.

Come in some time and play with us.

Easter Time at San Carlos Elms

The Residents had a fun day searching for those Easter eggs with great prizes; tokens to play with, coupons for the Little Elms Market, and coupons for bingo cards.

They also enjoyed listening to "Alligators" performance in the afternoon.

Raul played a great Easter bunny hiding all the Easter eggs.

He made sure to get some practice and how not to get caught.

Alligator put on a great performance for the residents.

Dancing in Our Memory Program

Our residents and staff love to dance. You might see them dancing everyday. When the residents hear the music they can't help but sing and move.

Doris Celebrated her Birthday in Our Memory Program with Style

Doris had a great birthday with her friends, family and staff in the memory program on April 3.

Her daughter, Susan attended the party and had fun sharing mom's glasses.

Our house dog Curley even wished Doris a Happy Birthday!

It was a wonderful afternoon. Especially when we all sang Happy Birthday.
