San Carlos Mayor Visit's San Carlos Elms

We are so lucky to have the Mayor of San Carlos, Cameron Johnson take time out of his busy schedule to talk with the Residents about what is going on in their city.
Residents listened as the Mayor talked about the dog park down the street and
the new stores coming soon to the neighborhood.

We thank you Mr. Johnson for taking the time to visit us at San Carlos Elms and look forward to your next visit in March.

San Carlos Elms had a Lovely Valentines Day

We has such a fun time at our Valentine's party.
We had sweets, music, friends and good laughs.
Take a look at some of the fun times we had.

Bud went to say hi to George. This was his first day back in a month and you should of heard the cheers he got when he strolled in the room! Welcome back George.

Sid was so excited when Conrad our entertainer serenaded her with her favorite song. Dolores was happy to be with her friend when the song was sung.

Kathleen and Gene had fun with the Valentine photo that was displayed at the front desk for all to have good time with.

Kathleen and Karen wanted to show their silly faces.

Brianna and Raquel went for the classic smile.

Kathleen had fun posing with the activity leaders, Ismary and Rhea who work in The Grove.

San Carlos Welcomes Brittan Acres for a Valentine's Visit

We had a very talented class from Brittan Acres come and spread Valentine cheer to our Residents this morning. Heidi Umber's class sang, recited tongue twisters, played the piano, show cased some hidden talents and put on two skits, but that wasn't all.
The Residents were excited to spend some one on one time with the students when they were done performing as they read a story to Residents individually.
When the students left they each received a Valentine bag full of goodies from The Elms.
Thank you to Heidi, her daughter Sarah, all the parents
and of course the talented class for all the fun this morning.
You always do a FANTASTIC job!!!

San Carlos Elms has a Good Time Watching the Super Bowl

San Carlos Elms Residents had a great time watching Super Bowel 50 with their friends and amazing snacks provided by our Dietary staff.
If you asked the Residents who they wanted to see win the big game most answered, doesn't matter my team isn't in it. I just want to see a good game. I think they got what they wanted.
 Bronco's out-scored the Panther's in 24-10 great game.

San Carlos Attend San Carlos Chamber Annual Recognition Gala

San Carlos Chamber has an Annual Recognition Gala where they spotlight a few important people helping the city of San Carlos be a bigger and better community.
This year San Carlos was happy to sponsor the Gala again, especially since one of our family members was presented with one of the highest honors the city can bestow on someone.
Karen Clapper received the Citizen of the Year Award.
Both of Karen's parents live here at San Carlos Elms. Karen is very active at the San Carlos Library organizing thousands of books, but that doesn't slow Karen down from helping out in the community. She has also served on the City Council and where ever she was needed.

Other Awards handed out:
Bonnie Jo Keating from Companion Care Service, Chamber Champion of the Year
Gold Medal Martial Arts,  Member of the Year,
The Reading Bug, Business of the Year.

Lindsay is a wonderful volunteer sharing her creativity with our Residents every month.
This week the Residents made Valentine Day cards.
They also had the option to decoupage a plate and bowl.
At 100 years of age it's always fun to have a Valentine!

Shirley and Harriett enjoyed their decoupage.

Betty had fun too!
Thank you Lindsay for all you do!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
