San Carlos Elms Memory Care Starts a Band for Fun

The residents had too much fun with the instruments yesterday. The staff had a fun time to playing and encouraging them to play and sing.


Elisa enjoyed the guitar, Ann enjoyed the cymbals.


Peggy liked the tambourine, Lucille liked the maracas.


Doris liked the guitar and singing, Mayfred liked the maraca.

 San Carlos Elms was excited and honored to be apart of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition again this year.  We were worried how it was going to all pan out, but thanks to a fantastic group of leaders and volunteers it was a huge success!!! We started the morning with an opening ceremony on Zoom celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, featuring guest speakers Rep Jackie Speier , Senator Josh Becker ,and Rev Lorrie Owens  President of San Mateo NAACP . Once we all had our history lesson and the power of community through the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it was time to get to work.  Cards were created for all of our residents and magazines were donated too. Volunteers created and donated beautiful bouquets of flowers.   They are out spreading cheer for both our Residents and Staff. Thank you Peninsula Multifaith Coalition , we hope we can meet in person next year, but what a wonderful job you all did!!!
