San Carols Elms House dog "Curley" Participates in Burlingame Pet Parade

Curley was having a howling time at the annual Burlingame pet parade this past Saturday. A lot of different dogs were there and they all got along, no dog fights that morning, they were having too much fun strutting their costumes.

Our Marketing Director June had fun walking with Curley in the parade.

Princess Leia, Obe One and Yoda made an appearance.

The parade was for the young, old, and even disabled. It was a beautiful site to see.

Some dogs came out wearing their best dress.

Their was one cat brave enough to come to the parade, but she never came out of her cage.

Brittan Acres Visits San Carlos Elms

This morning we had a special visit from Heidi's class at Brittan Acres School. The students sang, performed tong twister, jokes, played ukulele, and finally they read to our Residents. We are looking forward to seeing them back in October in their Halloween costumes.
Thank you so much students!

Staff Appreciation Day at San Carlos Elms

We know just how hard our staff works every day here at San Carlos Elms, so each year we take a day to appreciate the hard work and dedication they show to our Residents, family members and management by providing them with the food they request,(this year Chinese & Mexican) and have a raffle where every employee walks away with a prize.
Lorily was happy to walk away with her flat screen TV.

Eswin & Ketty waited patiently with managers Maribel, June and Lisa, for their number to be called.

We were so happy that the staff brought their families along for the day.

Scott, The Executive Director calling out the winning numbers.

San Carlos Elms Sponsors the Memory Walk in San Francisco

San Carlos Elms has been a proud sponsor of the Memory Walk, fighting Alzheimer's for many years now. We were proud to have some of our Residents art work displayed this year at the walk.
Each year you choose to walk a 1.5 mile route around AT&T Park or 3 mile route slightly further down the way and back it is a lot a fun for a good cause.

The painting of the Golden Gate Bridge was done by Lillian Cummings.
The bright pink sunset was done by Ann Jacobson.
The Bird was done by Harold Burgess.
The grey kitty was done by Lucille Martin.
Thank you Laurie for walking for our Residents at San Carlos Elms.

San Carlos Elms Celebrates Loraine Adams 100th Birthday

Today we celebrated with cake, drinks, music, friends, family and staff to mark this incredible journey of Loraine Adams. We all had so much fun wishing her well and more to come. You would not know she was 100 years young just by looking at her. Loraine loves to play bridge, bingo and everyday work on the cross word puzzle, "It's good to keep the brain active", Loraine always tells people that.

Loraine enjoys her cake.

Henry plays "Happy Birthday to You" for all to sing.

Loraine blowing out the candle.

Loraine even cutting her own cake, we should all be so lucky at 100.

Son Larry with mom Loraine.

All her friends, family and staff enjoying the party.
Congratulations Loraine!

San Carlos Elms has Lunch "In N Out" Style Today

We had a wonderful time outside in the sunshine with our burgers from In N Out.
Thank you to the staff for setting up the extra tables, chairs and tent to block the sun. Thanks to our driver for picking up all the food. Thanks to all the Residents who attended, I think it was a huge success and we will do it again sooner than later. We might need a bigger patio next time.
Hope everyone had a Great Friday like we did!!!

San Carlos Elms enjoys an afternoon of BINGO

We had such a wonderful group today at Bingo. It is great having two rooms become one for this activity that is so popular. Residents have their favorite cards labeled with their names and play up to 4 cards per game, it can get intense. We love our Bingo here at San Carlos Elms. We play four times a week.
