San Carlos Elms Goes Out for Lunch

I don't know if it was because there was a break in the rain or what, but today we had our largest lunch group outing to date, 18 of us went out to lunch at Max's today. We had a great time, sharing stories, jokes and most of all being together.
You know when you are at a good fun restaurant when the food comes and the table becomes silent. Everyone enjoyed their food so much, some even took some to go, including desserts.
We will definitely be going back to Max's again.
Thanks Max's staff!

San Carlos Elms Resident Crafting for Thanksgiving

Each Resident worked very hard on their turkey pins for Thanksgiving some made two, one to keep and one to give to a family member. We all had fun creating and talking about past Thanksgivings and what are plans were for this Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
Gilda was so happy that she mad hers all by herself with no help.

Dorothy was happy that she had the waddle going the right way.

The group crafting.

Final look at our turkey pins, cute, don't you think?

San Carlos Elms Receives a Visit from the Mayor of San Carlos

Today San Carlos Elms Residents were honored to have the Mayor of San Carlos, Mark Olbert come to our community and speak to our Residents. He spoke to them about finance
and business. He also talked about the development coming up in San Carlos. Residents were happy to be in the loop of the government and happy to have their comments heard.
Here at San Carlos Elms we are an open community and thanks to the council we now will be that much closer to the community. Every month someone from the council has agreed to come and keep the Residents up to date with what is going on in the city that they live and love.
Thank you Mayor Mark Olbert for getting the ball rolling. We look forward to growing more with the community.

The Mayor even took some time to talk with some of our Resident one on one after his talk.

San Carlos Elms Thanks Their Vetrans in a Special Ceremony

Today is a day we honor our Veterans for their service. In honor of our Veterans today at San Carlos Elms we had a Ceremony for spouses and family members all listed in our program today. We also sang songs remembering the past and thankful for what we have today.

All the Residents stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.

The men were reminiscing over the songs being played.

The Residents were asked when their branch came up or their spouse's to either stand or wave their hand to be recognized for their service to our country.
We have a lot of Veterans here in our small community of San Carlos Elms and today we made them remember just how much their dedication and sacrafice to our country made to us and our families.

Let's See What The Memory Program Did For Their Halloween at San Carlos Elms

The Residents in our Memory Program had a very busy day on Halloween. They were first visited by the kids from Children's Place of San Carlos, then they made their own mask, which they were happy to show off at their Halloween Party.

Carol doesn't seem at all frightened coloring with a shark.

All the Residents enjoyed their company from their costumed friends.

Shirley is concentrating hard on her mask.

Harriet looks ready to put hers on.

Marilyn looks great with her mask on.

Becky and Fran look ready to party!

Shirley does too!

Harriet and Ruby toast to a perfect Halloween day.

Becky and Fran cheers to that.

Our Special Coordinator of our Memory Program got into the spirit of Halloween.

Our Activity Leader did too, she put her devil horns on Shirley for a photo shot.
Hope everyone had a terrific Halloween like we did at San Carlos Elms!

Happy St. Patrick's Day
