Memorial Day at San Calos Elms

This whole weekend we have honored our past Residents who served for our country.

Today we handed out Poppies to each of our Residents to remember all of Veterans who are no longer with us.

Marilyn helped fluff all of the Poppies before we handed them out. Thank you Marilyn!

Here is a little history on the Poppy and the Veterans Flag flying today.

Young Volunteer Making Sweet Smiles

Zoe, a fifth grader from San Carlos Charter Learning Center, had a project idea and literally ran with it. She wanted to complete 10,000 steps a day. Zoe thought if she was out walking why not pick up some treats for our Residents to enjoy. Supported by good wishes and donations for her project—a generous 7th grader, school families and relatives enabled Zoe to purchase bundtinis at Nothing Bundt Cakes for our Residents in our Memory Care Program.

Thank you Zoe for this wonderful project! We were happy to help you reach your step goals.
Keep up the great work and thank you again for all of these fantastic smiles you gave to each of our Residents with your afternoon treat.

Thank you Zoe!
