Winding up February Activities

Mayor Visit
The Residents were excited to see Mayor Mark Olbert and hear all the new things happening in San Carlos.
We are so grateful for Mayor Olbert to take time out of his busy schedule to come see our Residents.

Mayor Olbert does a wonderful job at keeping our Residents informed about what is going on in San Carlos.

Music & Motion

Thanks to our Friends from the San Carlos A.C.C our Residents enjoy some exercise accompanied by music and dance.

The Residents love all the songs from their generation to exercise too.

Laughter Yoga
Thanks to our friends from Care Indeed we are laughing happily with our Laughter Yoga Instructor Annie.
Laughter Yoga combines unconditional laughter with Yogic Breathing.
Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group; with eye contact and childlike playfulness, it soon turns into real and contagious laughter. The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific face that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same physiological and psychological benefits.

Annie is wonderful at getting all of our Residents in touch with their fun side.
Annie had so much fun with our youngest at heart, 102 years young Bob.

Caroline is a faithful Laughter Yoga attendant and said she always encourages other Residents to attend.

Xylophone Performance
Dan put on a fantastic performance for our Residents. What talent!

Activity Assistant, Ashley always has a lot of laughs and great stories with the Residents during blackjack.

Happy Valentines Day

We enjoyed some local school visits with Valentines for our Residents.
Thank you to Arroyo & Arbor Bay School for making and delivering some beautiful Valentines.

Arroyo School made a beautiful poster that our Residents in our Memory Program enjoyed during their Valentine Party today.
Evelyn is so happy.

Bill and Sally enjoyed their time at the party.

Friends Dina and Carol had a fun.

All the Residents enjoyed the special treats at the party.

Ruth at 100 years young still has the Valentines Day spirit.

We had such a fun time during our Valentine's Day party.
Residents welcomed their family and friends to join them for the celebration.
The food was delicious, the drinks refreshing, sweet decadent and the company priceless.
At 102 years young Bob still likes to have a good time posing with Activity Director Kathleen.

Gloria and Dolores loved their gifts for helping set up the party.

Joyce named her bear Valentino.
She was so happy to win him today.

Anna had a great laugh feeding Kathleen some of our Valentine Day treats.

Vikki cheers with her mom Shirley for a wonderful Valentines Day.
They said Hi Jean!

San Carlos Library is always helpful and supportive to our Residents.
Thank you to Branch Manager, Alexandria and Librarian, Rhea for taking the time out of the busy schedule to talk with our Residents and get their feed back.

We had a wonderful turn out and some great ideas were shared.
We look forward to working more with our Friends at The San Carlos Library.

Annual Citizen & Business Recognition Dinner in San Carlos

San Carlos Elms was happy to attend the Gala for citizen's and businesses of San Carlos. The Chamber did a fantastic job! We were honored to be one of the sponsors for this wonderful event at Domenico Winery.
Tom Davids started off the evening by welcoming everyone in attendance.
Former Mayor Bob Grassilli did a wonderful job hosting the evening.
San Carlos was happy to be one of many sponsors of the evening.

The night was packed with well deserving recipients;

The owner of Domenico's Winery and Member of the Board of Directors, Dominick Chirichillo also welcomed everyone to the recognition dinner.

Suzanne, or as we like to call her her at The Elms "Suzie",  received her Chamber of the year award. We appreciate all of her hard work and dedication with the Music & Memory Program here at San Carlos Elms.

Trudy & Bebe accepting the award for the Family Tree.

We were honored to sit with the recipients of the Community Organization of the Year, "The Family Tree".
We also appreciate that Trudy's mother was also a Resident at San Carlos Elms.

The night ended with the special award of the evening Citizen of the Year, Donna Becht.
Donna received a standing ovation for all of her hard work and dedication with Healthy City Tutoring.

Mayor Mark Olbert was one of several presenters for Donna.

Congratulations to all of recipients of the night.
Thank you again to The Chamber for putting on such a wonderful event.
Thank you to Domenico's Winery for hosting the evening.
