Latest News from San Carlos Elms and Grove

Thanks to our Friends of the A.C.C. our Residents were invited to attend their latest dinner dance. The theme was Luau and we were all transported to Hawaii for the evening.  We had drinks and appetizers on the patio. Mikayla , Linda and Jeanette enjoy a refreshing drink before dinner.  Jeanette is one of our newest Residents she invited her family to her first dance at the A.C.C. Alvin, Jeanette, and Mikayla smile for the camera.  Violet, Kathleen and John pose for a picture.  Ashley and Gene enjoyed the evening.  We loved the Hawaiian Dancers who kicked off the dance.  They were so beautiful to watch.  After they danced they invited all of us on the dance floor to try our moves.  Ashley and Gene tried their moves.  Violet and Kathleen tried their moves too. The Residents wanted to go to The San Carlos Library today as a group, so we walked. Our friends at the Library were happy to see us. Thank you to Rhea for helping our of our Residents library cards. They can't wait to use them.  Marcella was so happy to be at the library.  Ana was happy to get to the library and socialize with her friend Mary away from The Elms.  Virginia was happy to go for a walk and enjoyed relaxing with her magazine.  Marcella couldn't wait to get home to read her book. Of course no trip is the same with out Alyce. This time Alyce was volunteering at the library and not with our group. She was hard at work. Thank you to San Carlos Library for all your help!!!

Evelyn celebrated her momentous birthday surrounded by family, friends and staff.  Evelyn was happy to have so many of her family members in attendance. Her sons Tom, Mike and daughter-in-law Pam pose with Mom for her big day.     Evelyn's strawberry short cake was delicious.    Evelyn was conducting the singing of "Happy Birthday"    She did a great job blowing out the candles on her cake.   Everyone in attendance had a great time. Root Beer Float Social  During the summer we enjoy our Root Beer Float Socials. Gloria is enjoying hers with some Cracker Jacks.  Barbara and John enjoyed their floats with some soft pretzels. Thank you to Dave who prepared the fun snacks for our Float Social. Doc Lamott   Every visit Doc Lamott brings to our community a wonderful musical topic.  The Residents and some of their family members enjoy this monthly visit. Thank you Doc. Lamott for enriching our Residents lives.   Wendell Performance Wendell is so entertaining. He sings, plays the piano and  gets the Residents moving!  The Residents enjoy the extra exercise. Art Visit and Presentation  Jan Pitcher came in to share her beautiful artwork with our Residents and share her stories behind each picture.    The Residents loved all her artwork.  Jan's discussion this visit was on Birds....

Alyce's Birthday Party  Alyce had a fun birthday with her friends, family, staff and fellow volunteers.   Alyce was so happy to see everyone at her birthday party.    Tibor was excited to play for Alyce's birthday celebration.    Rigo was a big help making sure everyone had something to drink. Thank you to everyone who helped pass out drinks and cake.    Their wasn't an empty seat in the house.   Ice Tea Social  The Residents, Helene, Helen and Florence enjoy a cup of ice tea and cookies.    Stewart, Joyce, and Shirley love to socializing.    Peggy and Emily smile for the camera.   Scott on Guitar The Residents have a lot of fun singing along with Scott on his guitar. We had such a fun fourth of July celebration yesterday.  Shirley and Vicki smile for the camera.
