We Started Our Vaccinations!

 It has been a long wait coming, but they are here CVS/Omnicare staff came in today to administer our first round of vaccinations to half of our Residents and Staff.

The excitement in the building was fantastic! After all of the vaccinations Elms Staff went around to each apartment who received a shot and placed a balloon by their apartment door.

We are half way there and we are looked forward to being completely vaccinated by mid-March.

Thank you, CVS/Omnicare and Elms staff, for all your hard work!

Maribel, our Director of Health Services showed the staff it is easy.

At 100 years young, Velma got on her phone to let her family know she received her first shot.

Peninsula Multifaith Coalition for the 9th Annual MLK Jr. Multifaith Day of Service

 San Carlos Elms was excited and honored to be apart of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition again this year. 

We were worried how it was going to all pan out, but thanks to a fantastic group of leaders and volunteers it was a huge success!!!

We started the morning with an opening ceremony on Zoom celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, featuring guest speakers Rep Jackie Speier, Senator Josh Becker,and Rev Lorrie Owens  President of San Mateo NAACP. Once we all had our history lesson and the power of community through the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it was time to get to work.

 Cards were created for all of our residents and magazines were donated too.

Volunteers created and donated beautiful bouquets of flowers.

 

They are out spreading cheer for both our Residents and Staff.

Thank you Peninsula Multifaith Coalition, we hope we can meet in person next year, but what a wonderful job you all did!!!

Staying Current with Carol

 Carol is a dedicated volunteer to San Carlos Elms. She has volunteered her time for almost ten years now and with the current situation going on we are so lucky to have her Zooming in with our Residents to answer any questions they may have with what is going on around the world.

Thank you Carol for sharing your time and energy with our Residents!
