Marie celebrated her 100th birthday today with friends and staff. Marie's Birthday is on October 18th, but we wanted to start the celebration early!!! Marie loved her corsage! She had fun with her birthday glasses. She was taken away with her certificate from Congresswoman Jackie Spears office welcoming Marie to the Centenarians Club. Loraine turned 101 years young last month, she wanted to welcome Marie to the Club too, and many more.  Henry played "Happy Birthday" song for Marie.  Marie did well blowing her candles out. Grace, Marie's private aide, helped Marie cut the first piece of cake. We all had fun at the party!!!

Our Residents love to keep busy during the day. See what some of their favorite activities are. Crafting,   working a puzzle,  getting their hair done every week,   spoiling our house dog Curley with love, celebrating a friends birthday,  decorating for the holidays, or just enjoying the sun on the patio with a newspaper.

Lindsay comes in twice a month, volunteering her time and crafts with our Residents. Each week Lindsay come in with another brilliant craft for our Residents. Her participants grow each week. Ruth had fun with her aide making this Fall decoration. Caroline had fun going through all the different leaves. Dolores wanted it all on her white pumpkin.  Betty's was beautiful.   After Sue helped everyone with theirs, she made her own. Mabel's gourd came out lovely.  We had a large group for Arts & Crafts today. Margie couldn't hold her excitement in.

Today we had such a great time Wii Bowling against the San Carlos Adult Community Center ! Sure, San Carlos Elms may not have been victorious this time around, but we had a lot of laughs. We thought we were ready for them this time.  We even practiced this morning, before we had lunch. We arrived at the San Carlos Adult Community Center's temporary home on San Carlos Ave and they were ready for us. Like one on the Residents said, "We may not have won, but we sure did have a great time!" Dolores had an off day, but she still played great!   A few Residents even came to the Community Center to cheer on their team.   Here are the final scores of both games. The Elms played with a lot of heart!   We will see the San Carlos Adult Community Center in January. Maybe 2016 will be OUR year!!! Thanks for such a fun time!!!  

We had two cheerful woman today to deliver bouquets of flowers to our Residents today from Random Acts of Flowers The flowers brighten Residents apartments and hearts today. Residents were talking about their flowers. They were all so beautiful and unique for each Resident. Thank you Random Acts of Flowers for brightening up our home.

Today a small group of Residents went out to Max's for lunch with the Activity Director and the Driver. You know the food is good when the food arrives and the talking stops. Thank you Max's . Helen and our Driver, August had a fun time. A lot of laughs. Activity Director, Kathleen and Bill had fun too. August couldn't go with out taking a picture with Harriet.

Here is another close look into our Memory Care Program. Just a few of the activities the Residents enjoy. Dennis loves to go for a walk to the pool table and shoot a game or two. Lillian and Larry stretching their muscles. Harriet & Larry concentrating on their paintings.   Anne is concentrating too. Halloween is just around the corner. Time to start decorating with our freshly cut out pumpkins. Becky loves to give our house dog, Curley a walk. I think Curley enjoys it too.
