San Carlos Elms Participates in Week of the Family

Image
This is Week of the Family  celebrating 16-years of community service throughout San Carlos. At San Carlos Elms we opened our doors to three schools in San Carlos. Students along with Residents accomplished making sandwiches for Street Life Church , Valentines Day cards for our Veterans at the VA in Palo Alto, ipad lessons with our Residents done with the students, while other students played scrabble with our Residents and others went to our Memory Care Program to read with our Residents there. Mabel & Shirley were happy to make sandwiches for a good cause. We had a great turn out this year! Don played scrabble with one of the students. Jennifer was referee for the Centenarian Scrabble Battle between Lorraine and Jay (both over 100 years old). Former mayor of San Carlos, Don Eaton, played scrabble with Jean and lost - respectfully. Here are just some of the Residents and Volunteers working hard on the Va...

San Carlos Elms Rings in the New Year

It's Midnight Somewhere! We had a wonderful, fun-filled New Years Party today. Residents, family and staff were here to welcome the New Year. We hope you and your family have a safe and healthy New Year.  The Residents enjoyed receiving their yearbooks today at the party. The yearbook goes over all the activities we have done from 2014. Special thanks to Ashley and Natalie for volunteering at the party today! Enjoy our party pictures.

We were so happy to have a photo booth at our Holiday Party this year, that I thought we should share some of the candid's shot in the booth. Residents, family and staff had a great time! Thanks to Flash Photo booth for making it possible for everyone to participate.  Merry Christmas to you and your families!

Happy Hanukkah from San Carlos Elms

It is the fourth night of Hanukkah and here at San Carlos Elms we make sure that we have the candles lite every night. Tonight Regina lit the candles for all of our Residents of Jewish decent. Happy Hanukkah from San Carlos Elms.

Little Explorers Petting Zoo visits San Carlos Elms

Image
It might have been wet and cold outside, luckily we met the Little Explorers Petting Zoo in our garage. It might have been a little cold, but the animals warmed us up and it was nice to be dry.    The lamb & goats loved Margo's walker. Philip enjoyed the one month old bunny. JoAnn enjoyed the black bunny. Karen didn't want to let hers go. Anita didn't want to let Oreo the bunny go. Carol wanted proof that she was holding a one month old bunny, "no one will believe this" Carol said. The Little Explorers Petting Zoo did such a great job setting up in our garage. It didn't even feel like a garage. Special thanks to all the Managers who moved their cars for this event, it was appreciated!
