San Carlos Elms had a Fun Cinco De Mayo

Image
We all had fun pretending we were Mexican folkloric dancers yesterday. After the show we saw the previous day, we know how hard it is to dance. So, it was that much fun taking the pictures recalling the dancing we had seen. Boris and his wife Irene. Bill and his wife Carol. Tom and friend Margo. Tom and friend Nellie. George and friend Kathleen. Jamie and friend Alyce. Even the driver August and the Activity Director, Kathleen posed for a photo. Hope everyone had a fun and safe Cinco De Mayo!

We are so lucky to have one of our receptionists, Cindy Munoz and her family, come in and show off their Mexican heritage. The Residents loved seeing a traditional Mexican Folkloric Dance. The dancers all have been dancing for at least ten years and were wearing traditional outfits all made in Mexico. The Residents clapped along to all the dances and enjoyed learning the history of the costumes and dance. Cindy's cousin and brother Efrain. The Residents really enjoyed themselves. The Residents loved it when they could join in on the music. The dancers were great! Thank you Cindy for bringing them into our community. Hope to see you dancing next time.

Little Petting Zoo Visits San Carlos Elms

Image
We had a wonderful visit yesterday from our favorite petting zoo . They brought their chickens, rabbits, turtle, goats, and even an alpaca. The resident, their family, the staff and their family had a great time. We enjoyed the animals and in the perfect weather too. Dorothy is enjoying the rabbit. Nellie is enjoying it too. Regina likes rabbits. Anne does too. It was nice seeing so many family members come out for this visit. Bobbe enjoyed watching the kids as much as the animals. Caroline loved asking questions on all the different animals. Bill was surprised that they all came in one van. Renate was in heaven. So was her husband Edmund. Margo never wants to let go of the rabbit. Carol loved seeing all the different kinds of animals. We had a lot of people and animals. Luckily we had shade for the animals on this hot day.  Thank you Little Explores Petting Zoo for making it a memorable day!
