San Carlos Elms takes time to Remember a Resident

Grace Johnson lived in San Carlos Elms for the past 6 and half years. She passed away August 16th at the young age of 98. Grace didn't want a memorial service she wanted a celebration of her life, so that is exactly what her family, friends and staff gave her at San Carlos Elms.
The Johnson family provided all the fixings for a great celebration; cake, drinks and stories. The staff provided pictures to show on the television screen of Grace's 6 and half years here. The Residents couldn't stop talking about how well Grace was loved and will be missed.
Thank you Grace for being apart of our lives.

 San Carlos Elms was excited and honored to be apart of the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition again this year.  We were worried how it was going to all pan out, but thanks to a fantastic group of leaders and volunteers it was a huge success!!! We started the morning with an opening ceremony on Zoom celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, featuring guest speakers Rep Jackie Speier , Senator Josh Becker ,and Rev Lorrie Owens  President of San Mateo NAACP . Once we all had our history lesson and the power of community through the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. it was time to get to work.  Cards were created for all of our residents and magazines were donated too. Volunteers created and donated beautiful bouquets of flowers.   They are out spreading cheer for both our Residents and Staff. Thank you Peninsula Multifaith Coalition , we hope we can meet in person next year, but what a wonderful job you all did!!!
