What has the Memory Program been up to at San Carlos Elms?
In our Memory Care Program we are happy to see the Residents participate in a variety of activities.
Here is a sample of what we do.

San Carlos Celebrates Christmas with a Contest
At San Carlos Elms we had a door/ shelf decorating contest.
The Residents took time to decorate their apartment doors and it looked very festive during the holiday season.
Votes were casted by residents, family members, staff and visitors.
Ballots were counted and the winner was....
Shirley Carmona with her decorations seen as soon as you got off the second floor elevator it was hard to miss. Shirley won a special bag of brownie cookies.
We had four runners up who all won a bag of cookies and they are the following,

Little Explorers Petting Zoo Visits San Carlos Elms
The Residents at The Elms always enjoy the visit from the Little Explorers Petting Zoo.
It looked like rain today so, we met in the garage and had a great time!
Alyce had fun with the pigs.
Ruth and her daughter, Jan love the rabbits.
Helen enjoyed the pigs, chickens, ducks,....
and the alpaca.
Tish liked all the animals waist high she could pet their fur.
Ruth loved the little nose on the pig.
I hope Lisa wasn't thinking of going for a ride.
Even our receptionist, Ashley took a selfie with the alpaca.

Arundle School Visits San Carlos Elms
A spirited kindergarten class came from Arundel School to visit us today.
They caroled for us for a half an hour with their sweet voices.
Their Santa hats and reindeer headbands added to their performance.
Local Ukulele Group Performs at San Carlos Elms
For several years have been delighted with the sound of the ukulele group.
They perform their gift with us twice a year.
Sharing with us what they have learned and some of the classics that we sing with them too.

San Carlos Elms Enjoys Hot Chocolate
The Residents enjoyed different styles of hot chocolate.
We had mint, caramel, French vanilla, and no sugar added. Along with the chocolate the Residents were able to add marshmallows and whip cream to their drinks.
They all savored their drinks in their Holiday mugs, some even went in for seconds.

St. Charles School Spreads Holiday Joy at San Carlos Elms
St. Charles School did a wonderful job singing Christmas carols to our Residents this morning.
They did an amazing job telling the story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' line by line.
After they sang they presented each Resident with a card they made.
Thank you St. Charles and all the parents for their support.
Red & Thelma enjoyed their visit in the Lobby.
Bill was happy that the students read their card to him.
Kirsten thought all the students were wonderful.
George enjoyed his cards.
All the Residents enjoyed their visit and we wish all of them a Happy Holiday Season!

Crafting with Lindsay at San Carlos Elms
The Residents always enjoy Lindsay's crafting visits.
This day they made holiday bags for family members or for themselves.
They enjoyed crafting while listening to holiday music and socializing.

San Carlos Elms Celebrates with Their Annual Holiday Party!
Today we had a wonderful Holiday Party to kick of this Season.
We had great food, music, and a photo booth.
