San Carol Elms Residents Welcome the Mayor to Our Community

We are very proud to live in San Carlos. A city where its mayor, Cameron Johnson takes time to visit The Elms and let the Residents hear what is going on in the city they live in. The Mayor takes questions from the Residents on this visit too.

San Carlos Elms Joins in on Week of the Family

The San Carlos Week of the Family is an annual event organized by community volunteers, whose goal is to strengthen family relationships by providing a series of activities focusing on family and community interaction. Celebrating its seventeenth year, the Week of the Family, committee and its volunteers are proud to contribute to the quality of life and the family-orientated community of The City of Good Living. This year’s Week of the Family runs January 23 through January 30, 2016.

 

This year San Carlos Elms joined students from San Carlos and made sandwiches for Street Life Church, Valentine Day Cards for patient's at VA in Palo Alto,  and played some games. We also had some student volunteers reading to our Residents in our Memory Care Program.

4H Group Visits San Carlos Elms

We have had the pleasure of the 4H group coming in for the past two months.

This month they decorated cookies and played board games with the Residents.

We are so happy to have them back volunteering in our community again.

San Carlos Elms Celebrates a Residents 100th Birthday Today!

 Bernella had a wonderful birthday today. She celebrated with family, friends and staff.

We had strawberry short cake, drinks and music.

Bernella was happy to see her family and friends  here to celebrate her birthday.

 

Henry jumped on the piano to play "Happy Birthday to You".
 

 Bernella even blew out her own candles.

Bernella had a lot of friends at the party wishing her a Happy Birthday!

Bernella is the newest member of The San Carlos Elms Centenarian Club.

We are so lucky to have these strong woman as a part of our community and wish all of them the best!!!

San Carlos Elms Goes out to Lunch

 We were so happy to be back at Max's for lunch. 

The service and food is always great!

We were thankful that the rain held off till the evening so we could enjoy our afternoon out.

 Karen enjoyed her lunch. Then, enjoyed the rest for dinner.

Harriet & Muriel had nothing but laughs before, during and after lunch.

It's always fun to go out to lunch with a group of friends.

San Carlos Elms Celebrates and Takes a Look Back on 2015

This year the Residents decided to have a "Year in Review Party" with champagne, apple cider, cake, music and of course the distribution of the 2015 yearbooks.

Each Resident received a yearbook and enjoyed taking a look back at everything that they had accomplished in 2015.

They also enjoyed seeing the pictures showed to them on the television screens. We had a great time and look forward to see what 2016 has in store for us!!!

San Carlos Elms Residents Enjoy Art Project with Lindsay

We are lucky to have a volunteer come in a share her gift of crafting with our Residents.

This day the Residents made their own tea candle holders, that we used for our Year in Review Party.
