Easter Day at The Elms

 Residents enjoyed wonderful food throughout the day. They also enjoyed the Egg Hunt we had in the building.  Using riddles to locate where the eggs were in the building or outside. Stewart found a few by the slot machine. Faye found a couple too. Nancy look really closely. Micki, you are on a roll. Jeannette, make sure to look behind all of the books.  Dolores and Bill look like they had a lot of eggs. Nancy, you found some outside too, Great Job! Hope you had as much fun with your family and friends this holiday.

100th Birthday Celebration

    Lucie was thrilled to see her family along with all her friends to celebrate her 100th birthday.   A Holocaust survivor, Lucie Elenberg Burak was born in Forst, Germany, and was part of the kindertransport orphan program. The Jewish community sent her to London on one of the "Children's Trains" when WW2 was beginning. Lucie and her brother reunited three years later. In England, she also met and married Jimmy Elenberg, and their family eventually moved to Chile where Lucie became a fashion model.   After building their lives in Chile, they immigrated to the United States, where Lucie ulimately found her happiness. She feels grateful to become a US Citizen. Her weekly leisure includes a glass of martini and wine.  Lucie's words: " I find myself lucky to have a home like San Carlos Elms.
