A Resident Reflects on The San Carlos Home Town Day Parade in a Poem

The San Carlos Home Town Day Parade
by Rosemary Bishop

What do you think.
When you hear the beat.
To what do you link?
Could it be feet?

Look around and try to see.
What is that you hear.
What sort of rattle can it be?
Every noise we must hold dear.

Let us join that group.
And Try to make some friends.
They are going in a loop.
They sound like a bunch of hens-

It's a parade with marchers by the hundreds.
With viewers by the thousands
who may love to stop and go?
How many "out houses" you'll never know.

It's San Carlos Home Town Day Parade
They are all out to celebrate.
With a beautiful decorated bus.
The Elms must participate.
